Information, People and Technolgy. This course focuses on information systems and technologies, Information Society, and the social implications of information and information technology.

Online IST 111
Seminar in IST. First-year seminar and introduction to IST, academic requirements, career planning, ePortfolios, and information literacy.

Online IST 210
Organization of Data. Online IST 210 brings databases to life with a unique approach that focuses not only on constructing databases and using database tools, but also the implications of data uses and issues.

Online IST 220
Networking and Telecommunications. This course covers the foundational knowledge of the telecommunications and networking industry, as well as the basic concepts inherent to the application of data communications and computer networks in a digital age.

Online IST 250
New Media and the Web. This course provides an introduction to basic web fundamentals and how the World Wide Web utilizes new media technologies.

Online IST 260w
Introduction to Systems Design. This course is an introductory course to system analysis and design.

Online IST 295a
Distributed Team Project . This course includes supervised experience where teams of students work on information system design projects gathered from industry or units within the university.

Online IST 302
IT Project Management. This course explores the strategies and processes involved in project management, and specifically focuses on how to successfully manage IT projects.

Online IST Express 421
Advanced Enterprise Integration. This course prepares the student for problem solving and strategy-building in the fast-changing area of enterprise application integration, training students to be leading IT consultants of the future.

Online IST 451
Network Security. This course is an introductive course on network security. It covers the fundamental issues and concepts of network security, and the mainstream network security technologies and protocols that are widely used in the real world.

Online IST 7100
Fibre Channel SAN Foundation. Fibre Channel SAN Foundation introduces Fibre Channel and SAN fundamentals from a vendor-neutral perspective.
   
The Online IST Course Components consist of five major items. These items are critical to the Online IST experience and are what differentiate the Online IST curriculum from the rest.

is a custom browser window built to deliver all lecture and course content materials.
The Course Communication Space The Online IST curriculum has been deliberately built to be LMS/CMS agnostic. So whether you are a Penn State instructor using ANGEL or a corporate trainer using a custom built CMS, you can utilize the Online IST curriculum.
The Course Syllabus is the center piece to the Online IST curriculum. In the past, templates were provided to all Online IST instructors; however, now instructors can create, manage, and store their course syllabus online using Edison Services.
The IST Solutions Exchange is the centerpiece to the Online IST learning community. The Exchange provides a one-stop-shop for connecting to Online IST materials, resources, and support.
