Online IST Express Defined
An Online IST Express course differs from the pure Online IST courseware we have been creating the last several years in several key ways. First, Express courses will not have the massive content basis that our traditional Online IST courses have. They will leverage existing materials, from text books, to articles, to case studies, that are already used in the classroom. Second, Express courses might not have fully developed ANGEL templates. And finally, the focus of an Express course is one related to high levels of interactivity. The Institute will spend a majority of design and development time focusing on producing high end media examples to bring the content to life.
Express Process
The following process has been evolved from the traditional Online IST courseware design and development model:
- Faculty & SI teams identify best of breed syllabi for each course
- General content outline created
- Faculty materials are collected
- Media plot sessions and basic instructional design layer added
- Development of supporting activities, materials, or media
- Content delivered via the Online IST Syllabus tool
